General information, not legal advice. The warning texts are quoted verbatim from the official language versions of Directive 2009/48/EC on EUR-Lex (consolidated text including corrigenda). This tool does not decide which warnings your toy needs.
Which law applies?
Regulation (EU) 2025/2509 on the safety of toys entered into force on 1 January 2026, but applies generally from 1 August 2030 (Articles 28–44 and 49–55 already apply from 1 January 2026). Until then, Directive 2009/48/EC and the Annex V warnings shown here apply. Toys placed on the market in conformity with the Directive before 1 August 2030 may continue to be made available.
Choosing warnings is part of the safety assessment
Which warnings apply follows from your toy's safety assessment (and, where used, the harmonised standards). Article 11 also forbids warnings that conflict with the toy's intended use. The tool only provides the official wording.
