German stores show the equivalent: "Dieses Produkt ist entweder verboten, wurde zurückgerufen oder für den Versand dieses Produkts über Versand durch Amazon sind Compliance-Dokumente erforderlich." You may also see the status "Search Suppressed" or "Suppressed" in Manage All Inventory, or an email saying items are suppressed or at risk due to GPSR — the exact wording of those notices varies, but they all point at the same problem.

What does this mean?

In almost every case seen since December 2024, your product is not prohibited and not recalled — it's the third option: Amazon is missing (or has rejected) compliance documentation for the product, usually data required by the EU's General Product Safety Regulation (Regulation (EU) 2023/988, "GPSR"). Until you provide it, two things happen at once:

1. The listing is suppressed or deactivated — it disappears from Amazon search results (Search Suppressed) or stops selling entirely, so EU buyers can't find or buy it.
2. FBA replenishment is blocked — the "Send to Amazon" (DE: "An Amazon senden") tool refuses new shipments of the ASIN with the message quoted above, because a purchase-order block is active on the listing.

The good news: Amazon's own help page confirms that once you "provide the required compliance information," the block "is lifted automatically afterwards." No appeal, no account-level penalty — it's a data-completeness gate.

Why did I get this?

The GPSR applies to virtually all non-food consumer products sold to buyers in the EU and Northern Ireland since 13 December 2024. Amazon must show, on every in-scope listing, the manufacturer's contact details, an EU Responsible Person's contact details (when the manufacturer is outside the EU), and applicable warnings and safety information. Common triggers for suppression and the FBA block:

• Missing product-safety attributes on the listing — manufacturer contact, EU Responsible Person, or the warning/safety fields were never filled in.
• A submitted GPSR safety-document file was rejected as non-compliant. One UK seller reported over 2,000 items suppressed after Amazon ruled their uploaded GPSR file non-compliant — a single bad file can take down an entire catalogue.
• A related listing was already deactivated for GPSR ("Listing removed" in Account Health → Regulatory compliance), which automatically activates the purchase-order block you're hitting in Send to Amazon.
• Other, non-GPSR suppression issues (missing images, category errors) stacked on top. This matters because Amazon warns, verbatim, that "existing issues prevent listings from being reactivated, even if you've fulfilled all compliance requirements."

How do I fix it? (step by step)

1. Open the Suppressed listings page (Manage All Inventory → Suppressed; DE: "Ausgeblendete Angebote") and fix every issue listed there first — whatever it is. Until this page is clean, compliance submissions won't bring the listing back.
2. Check Account Health → Regulatory compliance. Click Add filters → "Listing removed" to find ASINs deactivated for GPSR. The hyperlink in the Reason column tells you exactly what's missing.
3. Click "Submit" next to each affected ASIN and provide the EU Responsible Person contact details and manufacturer contact details. If your manufacturer is outside the EU and you have no Responsible Person yet, appoint one before this step — Amazon will not accept the submission without it. Watch the formatting: phone numbers must start with "+" or "00" and contain 7–15 digits with no spaces; addresses must be in an EU official language; emails must have no leading or trailing spaces.
4. Upload compliant safety documentation — warnings, safety instructions and pictograms as PDFs or images (Amazon's PS01–PS06 image slots), in the language of the country of sale — or explicitly acknowledge that the product needs none. If a previous file was rejected, don't re-upload the same file: fix the content (correct language, legible warnings, product identifiers included) and verify after upload that the link on the live listing actually updates.
5. Re-check Send to Amazon. Once the compliance information is accepted and the listing reactivates, the FBA replenishment block lifts automatically — no separate request needed.
6. Mind the 30-day clock. For listings deactivated for GPSR, Amazon cancels outstanding purchase orders and returns or disposes of your FBA inventory if the information isn't provided within 30 days. If you can't fix it in time, create a removal order for the unfulfillable stock.

How do I prevent it?

• Fill the Safety & Compliance tab at listing creation for every EU listing — manufacturer contact, Responsible Person, safety attestation, and compliance media — instead of waiting for a suppression sweep.
• Get the documents right the first time. Most rejections are content problems: wrong language, missing warnings, generic files reused across unrelated products. Each product needs its own safety information in the buyer's language.
• Keep one source of truth for manufacturer and Responsible Person data and use it identically everywhere — mismatched emails between the listing and the registered manufacturer record can keep a listing inactive.
• Audit monthly: open Suppressed listings and Regulatory compliance once a month so a single rejected file doesn't silently suppress your catalogue during your best sales season.
